I am an outgoing and reliable person with a strong drive to achieve perfection in everything I do. In 2011 I graduated with a 2.1 Bachelors Degree in Computer Science with Software Engineering from Lancaster University.

Currently I am studying a Masters degree in Computer Game Engineering at Newcastle. As part of my course I have taken on a four month placement working as a Junior Game Programmer, this will count towards my final project along with a dissertation, for the Master's in Computer Game Engineering.

Here is a brief overview of my employment history to date.

Junior Games Programmer - GoGo-Robot April 2012 - August 2012

GoGo-Robot is a indie development studio based in Middlesbrough in the North East of England. As a Junior Games Programmer I have been working within the programming team to implement various game play features of the current titles. The games are mainly mobile and hand-held device which requires me to develop software which is portable and which will run on required hardware requirements. I have been working closely with the in-house game engine to solve complex technical problems that occur and to manage resources effectively.

Software Developer - TouchSolar June 2011 - August 2011

TouchSolar is a Preston based company who provide free solar panels to domestic homes. As their software developer I have been in charge of the re-development of thier web site. This project have included working closed with the designer to come up with a site which will appear for a national market. The development of the site has been done in php, html, css and mysql.

Windows Student Ambassador - Microsoft Sep 2010 - Present

As a student ambassador my role is to promote Windows 7 at Lancaster University and spread awareness about Windows 7 Access All Areas. This requires me to build networks with students to get them enthusiastic about the brand and various products which are being released. One of the first campaigns which was undertaken was the Windows 7 Second Movie competition, which gave students a chance to win VIP tickets to the British Film Festival. This role also allows me to gain an insight into some cutting edge industries such as movies and visual DJing.

Administrator - Burscough Neuro Physiotherapy Center Aug 2010 - Jan 2011

As part time administrator my job roles are to work on reception and greet patients as they arrive at the centre. The role also includes answering phone calls and emails regarding enquires about the centre.

Along with the receptionist duties I work as website maintainer, this means keep the website up to date with all the new things which are going on.

Clerical Officer - Southport and Ormskirk NHS Trust April 2008 - Oct 2010

I've worked as a Clerical Officer in a number of departments within the trust, these being: Human Resources, Medical Records and Training and Development. I had to demonstrate a good knowledge of understand in each of these department to succeed in each role. The main duties in each role was to answer calls, send letters to member of staff, creating databases and spreadsheets, booking staff onto training courses.

Education

This section is a record of my educational history from high school up to the current day at Newcastle University.

Computer Game Engineering (Msc) - Newcastle University Current

The Masters Degree is split up into three terms, the first containing three intensive taught modules.
 - Programming for Games : This taught me advanced object-oriented C++. The topics covered were not only vast but in-depth, the syllabus was: memory and pointers, data structures, loops and conditions, functions, concurrency, error handling, debugging, operator overloading, algorithm analysis, and methodology of program development.
 - Graphics for Games : This taught me skills to produce the graphical scenes required for modern computer games. The syllabus was: Mathematical fundamentals of graphics, polygon mesh models, representation and modeling, real-time rendering 2D and 3D scenes, lighting, post processing.
 - Game Technologies : This taught me the basic skill set required in developing games. The syllabus was: collision detection, physics, artificial intelligence, networking and game design.

In the current term there was been a number of workshops in: Engineering, Networking, Audio, Playstion3. Additionally we have had a series of video game industry seminars from: Eutechnyx, SEGA, CCP, Travellers Tales Fusion, Ubisoft Reflections, NVidia. A team project has run along side the workshop and talks. The implementation of the game has been from scratch without the use of any game engine or middleware. The team website Level Nine Games

Computer Science with Software Engineering - Lancaster University Sep 2008 - Jun 2011

Studying Computer Science with Software Engineering has increased my knowledge within computer and given me a great insight into advanced computing concepts. Throughout my course I have worked with many different programming languages and various cutting edge technologies. I have also been a course representative for two of the three years, which enabled me to make decisions on the course structure and running of the department.

Whilst at Lancaster I worked towards the Lancaster Award which I obtained in my final year, the award was gained by succeeding in the four key areas of:

- Employability/career development
- Campus,community and socail development
- Work experience
- Sports and activity development

Outside my course I have been an active member of the Swimming and Waterpolo club, which I took up the role as men's waterpolo captain in 2010-2011. Since starting Lancaster the sport of triathlon has been a big part of my spare time, this has motivated me to continually better myself in not just triathlon but in everything I do.

IT Practitioners - National Diploma, Runshaw College Sep 2006 - Jul 2008

By now I had a great passion for technology and computers in particular, I took a National Diploma in IT practitioner which taught me some of the basic concepts of computing and provided me with some vital IT skills. Throughout my time at Runshaw I took my love of sport further by taking up cycling and continuing with rugby playing for my local team.

St.Bedes High school - Ormskirk Sep 2001 - Jul 2006

My interested in technologies first came from high school where I studied ICT at GCSE along with design and tech at St.Bedes . It was my involment in the rugby team which helped me develop some key team building skills and became enthusiastic about sport.
